Speech-Language Pathologist

Jaclyn Hesano is an SLP clinical fellow who earned her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Wayne State University in May and her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Wayne State in 2023. Through her academic and clinical training, she gained extensive experience assessing and treating children in early childhood programs, outpatient clinics, and school settings. Jaclyn has worked with children across a wide range of developmental stages and diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, articulation and phonological disorders, and receptive-expressive language delays. She is passionate about fostering meaningful communication and designing therapy experiences that are both functional and engaging for every client.

Jaclyn uses a variety of evidence-based strategies to help children generalize skills across settings and contexts. She supports expressive language development through modeling, expansion, and recasting, and creates opportunities for children to practice communication in natural, meaningful situations. For articulation, she incorporates visual cues, multi-sensory activities, and targeted speech sound strategies. Her sessions often include play-based activities and real-life routines, ensuring that skills are practical and easily transferable to home, school, and community environments. Dedicated to family collaboration, Jaclyn provides education and coaching to empower caregivers in supporting communication at home.

Outside of her professional work, Jaclyn enjoys playing tennis, spending time with family and friends, going for walks with her dog, and exploring creative outlets such as painting, drawing, and coloring.
